Frank Miller’s “The 300” Movie Trailer
I’ve not read the Frank Miller graphic novel, but I am familiar with the historical events it is based on (Battle of Thermopylae, 480 B.C.E.). I have to say, this trailer looks very surreal, almost more like a music video for some bleeding edge musician than a historical action movie (i.e. Troy, etc). Does paraphrase the coolest line in the war… when told that the Persian army was so vast that the arrows of its archers would darken the sky, the Greeks responded: “So much the better, we can fight in the shade.” Movie trailer and links after the cut.
Interesting, I really enjoyed Sin City, and as a former avid comic book reader Miller is pure genius. I didn’t know anything about this movie or the graphic novel but I’m intrigued to look into it a lot more now.
Sometime I’m going to have to stop in a comic book store again. I’m probably missing out on some good stuff now days.
I’ve been meaning to try to get back in one myself. A lot of supposedly good stuff out there, beyond the capes & spandex realm. 🙂
