Details sketchy, still incoming, but it would appear that Gary Gygax has passed away. š
No news agency has picked the story up yet, but his publisher’s forum page (currently swamped and timing out) and the Wizards of the Coast forums reported his demise. Wikipedia has been updated (for what its worth).
He was 69 years old and had fought off multiple strokes and heart attacks in the past.

I just saw it on the comcast site, under National news. I was very privileged to not only work with him, but know him as a friend.
The last time I spoke with him, he told me that although he knew he could pass at any time, he was at peace with it.
He was a remarkable man, a gifted designer, a brilliant conversationalist, and a good friend. He will be missed by many, including me.
