I can’t imagine anyone I know would be interested in a game about building a game but I’ll risk mentioning Game Dev Story on the slim chance someone I know might like it. *grin* Game Dev Story is a quirky little thing with graphics reminiscent of the 8-bit era. I’m mostly a puzzle and strategy gamer on the mobile platform, so this falls well within my niche. I won’t tell you how my product went the first time, as I spent most of my time figuring out the interface.
The game play is centered around building your company, assets and marketing your game so exactly what your game concept is and your actual knowledge of programming are absolutely unnecessary. You’ll navigate the mysteries of hiring personal, dealing with game company drama and wrangling users.
The game could use some polishing in terms of formatting for various devices and user interface, but the core concept seems solid.
