I received this book as a gift from my youngest sister, who got it signed by Al Gore. It took me a long time to finish the book, not because it was bad or hard to read, but because each section fired off so many thoughts and considerations (many of which were quite heated). Although it is not an inciteful book in the way the rantings and ravings of neo-con rivals, The Assault on Reason will anger any thinking person. The frank and well-supported way, Gore outlines the assaults performed against the American people can build a deep frustration in the reader. This reaction alone made it necessary for me to read it in small doses, though if you can take the harsh medicine presented within, you will be a stronger person, hopefully immunized from the assault Gore reveals.
