Filled with excellent, thought provoking concepts, but I find it hard to believe it was written in 1980. It has that distinctly 1960-1970s sci-fi feel to it. Whether that is a good thing or a bad thing is a matter of taste, but I’m guessing Brin is a huge fan of the likes of Bradbury and Niven. :-)
