A quasi-historical first person view of the Battle of Crecy. Imagine the “Comic History of…” series but without the polite blushes when historical issues get ugly. Ellis somehow reigns in his usual obsessions to produce a really quality piece of work here. Some folks might not like Raulo Caceres, but I think it’s the perfect fit. He manages to allude to historical art while not compromising nuances of expression and action.
