A superb historical drama that manages to bring the ancient world to life in a compelling way I haven’t seen since I, Claudius. Unlike I, Claudius, HBO”s Rome aims the camera at a personal level, following the lives of two Roman soldiers as their own lives intertwine with the pivotal events of the Empire.

Historical sticklers might be upset with some of the liberties taken in the story, but I assure you this is good, riveting historical fiction worth those liberties.
