DeKalb County’s Finest Turn Out For Xenu

The Dekalb County Police Department turned out in riot gear yesterday to drag off a few peaceful folks protesting Scientology. Apparently, the rattling of a few cardboard posters a few hundred yards from a Scientology compound on public property is sufficient cause to allow “noise ordinances” *cough* bullshit *cough* to trump Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Assembly. Cars passing by were pulled over, inspected and ticketed for honking horns or flashing lights in support.

Your tax dollars at work. 🙂

I’m surprised the cops were available to show up at the protest yesterday, with all the storm stuff going on. Their nerves were probably frayed–I’ve never seen them react to a peaceful protest that way before.

The sad thing is, this will probably remain this way until someone sues.

    That was Dekalb County Police.

Thanks for the correction, Mobi. Updating the article now.

Reports are kind of sketchy at the moment, but there is some comments stating the police escorting some protesters INTO the Scientology building for “unmasking” (a Scientology camera man was on hand attempting to document protesters for the CoS usual routine of harassment).

Dekalb County Police Chief: Terrell Bolton

    E-mail: tdbolton@co.dekalb.ga.us

    phone: 770-724-7440

Simply contacting him won’t be enough though. He’s part of the problem not the solution.

News report on Terrell Bolton living in an RV without tags, avoiding taxes.

Terrell Bolton forces overtime because the police force is understaffed.

Ok they’re overstaffed and forced to work over time yet they had more police protecting the Church of Scientology during the protest than ANY other city?

This whole department needs to be investigated, starting at the top.

Wow, just gets better and better. Thanks for the additional information, Chris.

You know, a member of the legal community once disparagingly told me that if they were ever tempted to engage in a crime, Dekalb County would be the place to do so because of their police department. I see what he meant. Apparently, so does the Church of Scientology and Terrel Bolton. 🙂
